Mark Eric Hoffleit

     Mr. Mark Eric Hoffleit, age 53 of Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at his residence.

     He is survived by five sisters, Debbie VanLuven of Red Springs, NC, Donna Abdulrahmn and husband Mohammed of Columbus, OH, Suzanne H. Keenan of Virginia Beach, VA, Heide Hoffleit and husband Takoda of Danville, VA, Elsa Rodas and husband Jose of Gastonia, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Born May 30, 1971, in Orange, County, Florida, Mark was the son of the late George Frances Hoffleit and Edna Laura Harvey Hoffleit and was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Mary Higgins and Diane Hoffleit.

    Mark was a loving and caring brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed caring for his cats, traveling, visiting the beach, and teaching others of the area history. Mark passion was to give tours to anyone that wanted to learn the local history. He also enjoyed spending time with is family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that knew him
