Matthew Morris

Matthew Everett Morris, age 62, of Gastonia, was granted his angel wings on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gatonia.

Matthew was born Thursday, December 18, 1958 in Allen County, Indiana to Earl Everett Morris and Maudie Marie Mashburn Morris. His  final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends that Matthew had touched in some small way throughout his very meaningful life.

Matthew attended Burns High School in Lawndale, NC, and continued his education at Cleveland Tech. in business certification.  He enjoyed going fishing with his son, bowling, and sitting down to a good movie with his wife.  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Van Epps and two great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rachel Morris; one son, Chad Morris (Donna); mother and father, Marie and Earl Morris; one sister, Margaret Stewart; one brother, Eddie Morris; one grandson, Damond Matthew; one granddaughter, Cierra McSwain; and two great-grandchildren.
