Owen Trammell, Jr.

Owen Lee Trammell, Jr., age 84, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Brian Center in Gastonia.

Owen was born April 26, 1936 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Owen Lee Trammell, Sr., and Helen Cofield Trammell.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country honorably. Owen worked as a School Crossing Guard for twenty-one years for the Gastonia Police Department, and enjoyed his job.  He loved watching fireworks, dancing, but more than anything he loved his family.  Owen was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and a member of Moloch Elks Club and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, Owen was preceded in death by a brother, Namath Trammell; a sister, Betty Jean Allen; two aunts, Juanita Wilson, and Lois Cobb.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Trudy Thomas of Gastonia; two nephews, Donald Trammell and Chris Allen of Georgia, a niece, Sherry Allen also of Georgia; and a cousin, Leroy Cobb of Gastonia.
